Online Clinical Psychologist
Sara considers herself an eclectic psychologist, focused on adapting her intervention to each person. She does not follow the trend of labelling with diagnostics and jargon, but rather to first understand the unique person with whom she is working with, and then adapt the working tools accordingly. However, over the years of clinical practice, she found that the work of emotions is central to all processes of transformation and personal growth, thus this is an intervention tool much present in her therapy room.
Sara started her career in Portugal after completing her Master Degree in Psychology, Counselling and Psychotherapy. She is registered as a clinical psychologist by the Psychologists Boards in New Zealand, Portugal and England, with 12 years of clinical experience. She began her career working with children, adolescents and families in community services and public health. Over the years she developed clinical skills working with adults and couples in both public and private sectors. In New Zealand, she worked in DHB’s outpatient community mental health services in both islands, and also with ACC and private practice. During her clinical practice, she also developed her skills in clinical supervision and training both in Europe and New Zealand. She also got certified with new evidence-based therapies modalities, such as EFT, ACT, EMDR, etc.
