Jeffrey is a Kiwi of Ngati Kahungunu and Ngati Pahauwera descent. Jeffrey has a passion for appreciating New Zealand's unique cultural heritage and working together. Jeffrey is a bi-cultural supervisor who provides a warm, gentle, explorative professional process for psychologists and therapists who work with Maori. Jeffrey's approach is to help practitioners understand the cultural context of Māori while supporting them to explore their own views to discover differences and resonances that enable them to be more responsive to the needs of Maori in their care. Jeffrey has a wealth of experience that includes 7 years working in a maximum-security prison, providing programmes to reduce offending. Jeffrey's professional practice has enabled him to work with Maori and people from a range of different cultural backgrounds and individual needs. Jeffrey has experience with a range of therapeutic modalities and Kaupapa Maori models that help him understand the therapeutic process. While working in corrections, Jeffrey also worked as a kaiarahi, a role supporting colleagues working with Maori who have cultural issues. Jeffrey has worked one-on-one or facilitated Kaupapa Maori supervision sessions towards working better with Maori. Jeffrey's qualifications include a BA in Psychology and a Bachelor of Commerce, Honours in Management. Jeffrey is available to work online, one-on-one, or facilitate group sessions.
$180 for individuals and couples (60 minutes)
